    The 40-hour comprehensive training emphasizes mental health-related topics, crisis resolution skills and de-escalation training, and access to community-based services.  The format of this 40-hour course consists of didactics/lectures, on-site visitation and exposure to several mental health facilities, intensive interaction with individuals with a mental illness, and scenario based de-escalation skill training.  Experience has shown this is a minimum level of training hours.  The materials covered are complex.  The desired learning outcomes go beyond simple cognitive retention of the material.  The outcome desired is the retention of behavioral changes laerned as part of the training.

    Training is FREE and supported by the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, NAMI Ohio, and Mental Health America.  Your host is the Blue Ash Police Department.

    This training is a 5 day training and you must attend all five days (April 7-11, 2014).  It is from 8:30-4:30 and will be at the Blue Ash Fire Department North locate 10647 Kenwood Rd.  Blue Ash OH 45242.

    You can only register for this weeklong training on the April 7, 2014 tab.  Once you have registered on the April 7, 2014 tab, you are registered for the entire week of training and will receive confirmation.
