    In this year's program we'll delve deeply into specific techniques to develop resilience in children (K-12), as well as examine methods to build resilience in the adults that serve them. Utilizing CASEL’s framework of five core competencies as a foundation, presenters will provide practical methods for teaching and reinforcing the developmental assets that youth need to achieve academically and grow as an individual.

    A great way to kick off this year's Summit! Before you can help others, you need to take care of yourself, so take the time to learn practical techniques for developing and sustaining your resiliency. A must attend program for all adults that support and service youth. (2 CEUs)

    Enjoy appetizers and a choice of beverages as you network with other thought leaders in resiliency and social and emotional learning. Behavioral health and educational service providers will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss important services available in the region.

    Facilitating Learning, Resilience, and Hope in our Students and Ourselves

    This presentation focuses on brain-based interventions to help students of all ages and ability levels. Participants will learn the top five resilience factors found in those who have experienced toxic stress or trauma and moved beyond it. Learn the techniques that develop the safe environment and attachment that all youth need for both academic success and a happy successful life.

    Join Dr. Cook as she demonstrates how stories/literature can be used to develop and reinforce resiliency factors in youth. Using actual examples, Dr. Cook's presentation is designed to introduce the techniques used to fully leverage stories via discussion and writing prompts in K-12.
