You are invited to participate in a session to hear your thoughts and input to develop best practices in trauma-informed care in Ohio. These efforts are meant to increase community and family resiliency.
Your experience is valuable to the planning and development of the Ohio Trauma-Informed Care Regional Collaborative developed by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.
Who it serves
The collaborative will serve and engage:
- County mental health and addiction boards
- Behavioral health providers
- School districts and educational service centers
- Individuals with lived experience of trauma
- Grassroots and community-based organizations
Where it serves
The invitation to this listening session is shared with organizations like yours in the Summit Region which includes these Ohio counties:

About the Trauma Informed Care Collaborative
Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio (MHANKYSWOH) is selected as the Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Regional Collaborative Provider for the Summit Region.
MHANKYSWOH is a recognized leader in delivering trauma-informed care (TIC) training, equipping providers, educators, and community organizations with the knowledge and tools to implement best practices.
These six Regional Collaboratives are a statewide initiative to develop and sustain an inclusive, coordinated infrastructure that advances trauma-informed care efforts. The collaboratives further expand access to trauma-informed care and other coordinated services.
Increasing partnerships and collaboration to further connect and expand the community-based efforts ensures alignment and cross system partnership and integration. Members will offer meaningful contributions and shared ownership engaging in data-driven strategic planning to assess each of the six regions unique needs to identify gaps and opportunities.
Trauma-informed primary prevention focuses on preventing trauma exposure and building resilience before traumatic events occur, aiming to create safer environments and strengthen protective factors within communities and organizations.

Will something like this be provided for Northern Kentucky regions as well?
For now, we are focused on our multi-county region in Ohio. This collaborative is part of an initiative with the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.
