    Workshop educates participants on
    • The impact of modern lifestyle on our biological stress response
    • How the stress response impacts individual perception, cognition, and behavior
    • Family Systems theory, and the Family Life Cycle
    • How modern lifestyle (stressors) impacts family functioning
    • Evidence based adaptive coping skills for stress reduction. Participants will learn the HPA-Axis of the biological stress response. Participants will demonstrate a basic understanding psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) Provide overview of Self-Organized Criticality (SOC), and illustrate the Bak-Tang-Wiesenfeld Sand Pile Model. Educate on Family Systems Theory, and Family Life Cycle Apply Sand Pile. Model to Family Systems Educate on effective stress mediating coping skills. Demonstrate how the "Lifestyle Route," which integrates daily stress reduction practice with Change Management principles, creates and maintains to personal and family wellness.

    CEU approval sources: Ohio Counselor and Social Worker CPE hours approved, #RCS030401 (valid until November 2015), by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board; KY Board of Social Work Continuing education sponsorship number KBSW-SP1322 (valid until August 2014). Successful completion of this offering includes attending the entire offering and completion of evaluation. If you arrive late or leave early continuing education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content.
