Research and Clinical Trials

There are a number of agencies that conduct research and provide information about their findings.

National Institute for Mental Health

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) provides news and updates. Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio is proud to be an outreach partner with NIMH.

Research Studies

Choosing to participate in a clinical trial is an important decision. It is often helpful to talk to your health care provider, family members, or friends about deciding to join in a trial. Research can be a rewarding experience, however, it is important for you to consider things like risk factors and aftercare services. Best practices for treatment of mental and substance use disorders, recommends seeing a licensed professional therapist as a first step. Depending on the severity of your illness, therapy and other lifestyle changes may be all that is required to recovery.
